Dear Colleagues,
I am honored to submit my candidacy and seek your support for Parliamentarian of the Nursing Home Litigation Group. Since joining NHLG, I have attended every college, conference, and webinar offered—each one strengthening my commitment to this vital area of justice and deepening my respect for the outstanding work of our members.
I bring over a decade of civil litigation experience, including medical malpractice, nursing home abuse, and wrongful death cases. My unique path—from 9-1-1 operator to litigation paralegal to trial attorney—has equipped me with both the courtroom skill and real-world insight needed to serve with diligence and perspective.
As a proud graduate of OAJ’s Leadership Academy and Executive Committee Member of OAJ, I have been trained to lead with purpose and to contribute meaningfully to our community. I will bring this same spirit of teamwork, organization, and proactive leadership to the NHLG, fully engaged and available to assist our leadership team and uphold the integrity of our proceedings as Parliamentarian.
I also believe that broadening the perspectives within our leadership strengthens our ability to advocate for justice. As someone who brings a distinctive voice and lived experience to this space, I am committed to ensuring our group remains inclusive and forward-thinking. I have assisted with AAJ recruitment and hope to do the same for NHLG, specifically with ushering in younger lawyers who can learn from the wealth of knowledge of current members.
I approach this opportunity with humility, dedication, and a deep respect for the work we do. I would be honored to support our group and ensure our meetings and initiatives run with clarity, structure, and inclusivity, and to ensure continued growth and excellence of the NHLG. She has served on multiple AAJ committees, contributed to critical policy discussions, and mentored countless young attorneys through OAJ’s diversity and leadership programs. Anita’s professional journey reflects a deep commitment to fairness—not just in the courtroom, but in every space where justice and governance meet.
Her knowledge of parliamentary procedure is matched by her calm, principled leadership style. She believes the role of Parliamentarian is more than a technical one—it’s about ensuring every member has a voice, every process is transparent, and every decision is made with integrity.
